Senior IPS officer and Inspector General (Operation) Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi has been given additional charge as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for upcoming Nabakalebar Rath Yatra festival.
A notification issued by the Home Department on Monday said that he would oversee the security arrangements for the mega event in the pilgrim town. Priyadarshi, a 1995-batch IPS officer who served as Superintendent of Police of Puri district twice, has been asked to camp in the holy city till the end of festival.
