CRRID’s primary focus has been on carrying out socially relevant research on rural and industrial development in the wider social, economic and political context.
In recognition of its contribution to the cause of social science research in a broader national perspective, CRRID was accorded the ‘national status’ in 1985 by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
