Infrastructure development projects taken up on PPP mode have been put to fast track with the Empowered Committee on Infrastructure (ECI) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati taking a review of the projects here on Saturday.
Water Resources Department Principal Secretary and PPP Project Cell In-charge Pradeep Kumar Jena presented updates and outlined key areas for discussion. Taking stock of the progress, Pati directed respective administrative departments to take up the projects and follow up the implementation closely.
The projects reviewed by the committee included development of storage and ware-housing for rice under the State PEG Scheme at 15 locations, city bus service in Brahmapur- Gopalpur-Chhatrapur- Hinjilicut urban cluster, two affordable housing projects under the Housing for All policy, four-laning of the Sambalpur-Rourkela section of the State Highway-10 and 23 road and three fly over projects.
The committee also approved in-principle a proposal of the Health and Family Welfare Department for establishment of a super specialty cardiac care hospital in Jharsuguda on PPP mode. The hospital with an estimated project cost of Rs 40 crore will have 50 beds and two operation theaters. It is being founded under the joint aegis of the State Government and the MCl.
