Policemen donate blood for victims of earthquake

Responding to the appeal made by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and DGP BS Sidhu, to the police personnel to donate blood on humanitarian ground for the victims of the recent earthquake that rocked Nepal, large number of police officers and policemen volunteered for the cause.

The camp went on from 8 am to 6 pm at police line in Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar on Wednesday. Eight hundred units of blood were collected by IMA Blood Bank, Doon Hospital while 121 were collected in Jolly Grant Hospital.

Besides, 320 units of blood were collected from Udham Singh Nagar and government hospital, Rudrapur. Policemen from Haridwar and Dehradun were seen standing in long queues to donate blood. Senior police officers IG Deepam Seth, IG GN Goswami, DIG/SSP Pushpak Jyoti, SP City Ajay Singh and other police officers donated blood on the occasion. ADGP (administration) Ram Singh Meena was present on the occasion.
