Tuesday, 31 March 2015 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Fourth Year Integrated law student of the University law College, Bhubaneswar, Bismay Dash has been on a hunger-strike protesting injustice done by the Utkal University towards him. The strike entered the fifth day on Monday. Dash, who was admitted in the Capital Hospital after his condition deteriorated, said he was severely attacked by a group of students and goons on the wee hours of March 5, 2003. A judicial probe was ordered in the case. The Commission has already submitted his report to the State Government, but it is keeping in the issue, he added.

“When I wanted to know about the case from the Vice Chancellor of the Utkal University, he didn’t pay heed to my requests. So, I sat on hunger strike in front of the university gate demanding justice in the case,” said Das. He said the police took him out from the dharna place on March 28 night and admitted in the hospital. “I’ll continue my hunger strike till the demands are fulfilled,” said Das, adding, “If I die of hunger, the Vice Chancellor and the police will be responsible for that.”
