UT Department of Social Welfare will be organising a plantation drive in all its administrative units and institutions to celebrate Van Mahotsav 2015. Efforts are underway regarding effective and efficient execution of plantation drive under the “Greening Chandigarh Action Plan 2015-16”. A wide variety of trees like Anar, Gulmohar, lemon, Neem, Guava, Anjeer, lichi, Hibiscus, Mango, Blackberry, King mulberry peach, etc were planted in different homes and institutions. Also, a total of 110 plants will be planted across 10 institutions as per the directions of Director Social Welfare.
