Personal animosity among roadways staff brings commuters in standstill

The commuters were forced to bear the brunt of personal animosity and union rivalry among roadways employee for more than four hours on Monday. The irate members of Uttaranchal Roadways Karmachari Sangharsh Parishad forced closure of roadways services for some hours and demanded immediate action against a bus conductor who they alleged filed a false report against a driver and conductor of hill depot at Patel Nagar police station.

It was learnt that Dipak Kumar, a conductor of a Deluxe bus running on Delhi- Dehradun route had an altercation with driver and conductor of Uttarakhand hill depot at ISBT Delhi.

The duo allegedly thrashed Dipak in Dehradun on Sunday on which he lodged a FIR in police. Infuriated by this act, the irate members of the union engaged in a lock out of the ISBT.

The MD of roadways BK Sant intervened in the matter and constituted an internal inquiry. The general manager operation of roadways Rajiv Jain told The Pioneer that the agitation disrupted the operation of buses of from 3 pm to 6 pm.
