The Uttarakhand-America Entrepreneurship Exchange Summit- 2015 concluded at the World Integrity Centre on Friday with a session discussion on framework for social enterprise, using business skills for public causes and small business development and innovations. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the WIC India president Nazia Izzudin said, “People want to own organisations and not share.
It is the most empowering tool of business. Entrepreneurs should interact with each other and empower beginners.” The panelists at the first session of the concluding day included Smart Chicago Collaborative director of operations, Kyla Williams, Sangeeta Gairola from The living Tree, Cyril Raphael from SBMA, Dr Anil Prakash Joshi from HESCO, GK Swamy from Purkal Youth Development Society, Industries Association of Uttarakhand president Pankaj Gupta, Silvia Arora and Dr Deepak Arora from Ann Mary school. Kyla Williams stated that it is important for entrepreneurs to realise that there are no easy run aways and that entrepreneurship comes with great responsibility.
She later also elaborated the importance of coding. Dr Deepak Arora and Silvia Arora discussed the story of their school stating, “We realized that having a skill is very important and thus we decided to develop the school on our terms. We chose the path of peace education. We also focus on positive reinforcement. The traditional Indian way of living has a lot of strength.” Those who gave presentation on small business development and innovation included Wayne Encalarde, Founder of Studio Alaya Surbhi Vachani, Frieda Edgette, Associate Professor UPES Dr Ajit Kumar Nigam, Naina Saggi, Samarth Mungali, Bhavna Bahri, Member of Minorities Commission Sanjay Jain and Rishabh Jain.
