Punjab Government is all set to commemorate the 350th Foundation Day of Sri Anandpur Sahib from June 17 to 19 as a mega event. “The 350th Foundation Day of Sri Anandpur Sahib will be commemorated as a mega event to disseminate the rich legacy of this historic ‘City of Bliss’ and nation’s symbol of ‘unity in diversity’ across the globe,” said Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday presiding over a high level meeting to review the arrangements of the function.
Chief Minister also decided to invite the Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides the members of the entire Union Cabinet and Chief Ministers of all the States and other prominent dignitaries from different walks of the life to attend this prestigious function.
He also constituted a committee comprising Member Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, Cabinet Minister Sohan Singh Thandal and Madan Mohan Mittal, and Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs and Tourism Anajli Bhawra to finalise the modalities regarding the community kitchen (langar), accommodation and podium and acoustics etc.
Chief Minister also asked Bhawra to extend the invitation to the eminent religious personalities like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sri Sankracharya of Dwaraka Peeth besides other such renowned personalities from Christianity and Islam to propagate the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’ in right perspective which connotes the underlying the philosophy of holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Badal, on the request of the organising committee, agreed to call on the Union Railways Minister for seeking special train from Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Takht Sri Dam Dama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) Bathinda and Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar and Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib to facilitate the lakhs of devotees to participate in the mega celebrations of this historic function.
He would also soon meet the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister for seeking his personal intervention for the preparation of a documentary film showcasing the rich legacy of this sacred city and Khalsa Panth and Union Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister for organising light and sound programme and laser shows besides installation of life-sized paintings and murals depicting the glorious past and history of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
