Patwari Vinod Kumar Chauhan was caught by the Vigilance department while accepting a bribe of Rs5,000 at Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar on Friday. The bribe was sought for measuring boundary of Nazul land allocated to the complainant’s brother by the State, said SP (Vigilance) Haldwani, Pankaj Bhatt.

In her written complaint on October 29, Najma stated that her brother Imtiyaz was allocated Nazul land by the State Government. She had approached the Kichha Tehsil for demarcation of the land on which a report was sought from the Patwari but Chauhan demanded Rs10,000 from Najma for the report.
