The Commissionerate Police on Thursday took Rajendra Barik alias Raju and his brother Jaya Barik on a three-day remand for questioning in the sensational Dillip Nayak murder case which took place near Patrapada on the outskirts of capital city on June 18.
The Khandagiri police are questioning Barik and his brother about intention behind the killing Dillip, whereabouts of other associates, sequences of the committed crime and the person who fired the bullets at the deceased.
A special team of Commissionerate Police had arrested Barik from a relative’s house of the accused in Khandapada of Nayagarh district late on Monday night.
Meanwhile, the police team have launched a manhunt to nab the other 22 accused involved in the case. So far four persons, including Raju and his elder brother Jaya Barik have been arrested in the case.
Notably, the 35-year-old contractor Dillip Nayak was shot dead by rival Raju’s group near a construction site behind the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Patrapada under Khandagiri police station on June 18.
