Panel to look into pay anomalies: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a committee would be constituted to give recommendations about removal of discrepancies in employees’ salary and service. He said that justified demands of employees will be considered and positive decision taken.

The Chief Minister was responding to reception accorded to him by Madhya Pradesh Clerical Employees Union and other employees unions at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Park near Mantralaya here on Thursday. The Chief Minister said that it should be considered only a dialogue function and not felicitation function. Office-bearers and members gave a standing ovation to the Chief Minister and announced donation of their one-day’s salaries towards relief to farmers. Chouhan said that employees are like brothers and sisters in the family of Madhya Pradesh. It is impossible to run the family without them. He said that both the Chief Minister and clerks are equally respectable.

The Chief Minister said that farmers are passing through worst crisis due to widespread drought in the state this year. All possible assistance will be given to help them tide over this crisis. large sum will be required to provide relief and assistance to farmers for which arrangements are being made. Relief would be given to farmers even if loans have to be obtained. Every necessary step has been taken to ensure assistance to farmers. This is the time to stand by farmers, he added. Employees Unions accorded reception to the Chief Minister for his employee-friendly decisions during last 10 years. All of them reiterated the resolve to stand by farmers along with the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister converted the felicitation programme to dialogue programme due to crisis being faced by farmers. He kindled 10 lights denoting 10 years of governance.

President of Mantralaya Employees Union Sudhir Nayak drew Chief Minister’s attention towards discrepancies in employees’ salaries and service. Cow and livestock Conservation Board’s former Chairman Shiv Chaube, President of Employees Welfare Committee Ramesh Sharma, Clerical Employees Union’s President Manoj Vajpayee and Presidents and office-bearers of various employees unions were present on the occasion.
