Now, you can avail services of a plumber, carpenter, painter and mason at just one call. Higher and Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta inaugurated 'Call Karigar' portal during Career and Start-up Expo at Govindpura Model ITI here on Sunday. The scheme will be implemented from January 1, 2016. Gupta also inspected the expo.

Gupta said all experienced and skilled artisans of the state will be registered on the portal. Artisans can get themselves registered till Dec 31 by directly login on Karigar portal www. callkarigar.mpskills.gov.in.

Artisan can register rates of their services per hour, per day or per work on the occasion. Police verification of registered artisans will be conducted. A 24x7 call centre for people's convenience will be set up by Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Mission. Gupta said that this portal will facilitate common people and held unemployed skilled artisans in getting jobs.

Gupta called for raising youths who are not mere job seekers, but who start self business and give jobs to others. Such counseling fairs should be held constantly. Guidance and counseling cells should continue regularly. He said that skill development training should also be imparted to college students during vacant periods. He also dedicated renovated auditorium of ITI.

Director Skill Mission M Sibi Chakravarty said selected students of various trades of district and division level are participating in Start-up Expo. The students selected here will take part in National Expo.
