The Indore police are still groping in the dark in the sensational case in which the mutilated body of a woman was found four days ago.The police are following the ‘last seen’ theory in the case and trying to find out as with whom she accompanied before the murder.Kavita Raina, a resident of Mitra Bandhu Nagar under Kanadia police station, was murdered, chopped up into pieces and then dumped into a nullah near Teen Imli.
Her remains were discovered in two gunny bags on Wednesday.The police quizzed her husband Sanjay Raina for more than seven hours and spoke with his friend Manish Acharya and his brother-in-law.Police officials claim that a few eyewitnesses have emerged in the case and description of people Kavita Raina was seen with before she went missing on August 23 was being prepared.
Sources said the investigation have received a much-needed boost with the eyewitnesses coming forward. Also, a broad timeline of how the grisly murder was committed and how her body was dumped has also been prepared by the police.“We are almost clear about how the murder took place. We are still trying to be sure of all those who might be behind the crime. Quizzing in this regard is going on,” DIG Santosh Kumar Singh told.
In the investigation conducted so far, the police officials have ruled out possibility of Kavita's extramarital affair and role of a drunkard with whom she had a tiff last month.Forensic expert Sudhir Sharma denied claims that the woman was sexually assaulted before murder.
However, she was attacked with a knife on her head and chest.The incident has rocked the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh and the family members and locals had taken out a candle light march at Bengali square two days ago.
