The State Government on Monday announced to deploy 280 doctors and 650 paramedical staff to provide health services to devotees in Puri during the ensuing Rath Yatra."Instructions have been given to these doctors and paramedical staff to join their duty in Puri from July 1 failing which departmental proceedings will be initiated against them," Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak told mediapersons here.
He also said that since additional doctors and paramedical staff being engaged in Puri, steps have been taken to ensure availability of adequate numbers of doctors in PHCs and CHCs of the State.The Minister further informed that leave applications of doctors working in the three Government medical colleges and all other Government hospitals would not be accepted for a month from July 1 to August 1. However, in urgent circumstances, doctors can go on leave with prior permission of the Health Secretary, Nayak said.
