The organisational election for Uttarakhand State Shilpakar Kalyan Samiti was concluded in course of the Samiti’s conference held here on Monday.
Bhagwan Singh Tamta was elected State president, RP Kohali as general secretary, Gajpal Ram Arya and Sunil Kumar as vice-presidents and Mahavir Singh Avedhi as treasurer. Nand Kishore was elected as assistant treasurer. All of them were elected unopposed.
The Samiti members expressed anger over the indifferent attitude and discrimination of the State Government towards the Shilpakar community. No scheme has been launched for the welfare of the community, they alleged.
They demanded the State Government to take initiatives to fill the hitherto unfilled reservation quota seats. The Samiti also accused the Government of practising anti- reservation policy.
