Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that due to the untiring efforts of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh has erased the blot of sick State. Chouhan said that an agriculture college will be opened at Hoshangabad. Jaitley and Chouhan were addressing inauguration function of world’s largest global level logistics hub constructed at a cost of Rs 210 crore on 88 acres at Pawarkhera in Hoshangabad district on Saturday.
Union Finance Minister Jaitley said that Madhya Pradesh is connected with rail to entire country. From this viewpoint, it has immense potential of development. Describing the logistics hub as a milestone in the progress of Madhya Pradesh, he said that through it products of farmers will reach all over the country and importance of Hoshangabad will enhance in the country. Youths will get employment opportunities and this area will become an important centre of economic activities.
He said that fast speed with which the State has progressed under leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan has erased blot of sick State. Now, the state has good network of roads and people are getting power round the clock. Jaitley said that economic growth rate of the county has increased. A major change will occur following implementation of GST from April 1, 2016. Difference in rate of octroi in different state will end following its implementation.
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has surpassed Punjab and Haryana in wheat production. He said that the farmers possessing 5 acre land should also grow crops of flowers, medicinal plants and vegetables. He said that the government will establish small factories for food processing to make agriculture profitable.
A network of cottage industries will be laid throughout the state. He said that state’s agriculture growth rate has increased due to cooperation of farmers. Soil testing centres are being established at block level for advance farming. Information is being given about advance farming and organic farming is being promoted.
