Possibilities of industrial development were discussed in the industrial conference organised by the State Industries Department recently.

In the conference, chief guest MlA Dr Vimal Chopra said that to promote industries and solve the problems of industrialists, a single window system would be started in the district. All sorts of problems would be resolved through this system, he said. The MlA said that the atmosphere of Mahasamund was congenial for setting up industrial units.

The district has sufficient water, two national highways for transportation and land is also cheap here” he said and added that these are favourable situations for developing industries in the district.

The Railways had been conducting a survey for laying railway line between Mahasamund and Saraipali.  Food processing and dairy business related industries could flourish here, he said, and added that the Trans Mahanadi Area was lagging behind facilities.

For the systematic development of this area, Trans Mahanadi Development Authority should be set up on the line of other development authorities.

Chopra said that along with industries, there should be agricultural development also. 

The MlA said that industrialists should provide employment to the local youths and better facilities to build better industrial atmosphere in the district.

Mahasamund Collector Umesh Kumar Agrawal said that the main objective of the conference was to explore possibilities of industrial development in the district. 

Based on the outcome of the conference, work plan for the district would be prepared. As per requirement of local industries, youths are being trained under the skill development scheme, he added.
