Renowned Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans on Friday denied rumour that he was converting into Islam. The singer was here to perform on the concluding event of lokrang 2015 ‘Peer Parayi Jaane Na Re’. In a candid talk with the mediapersons, Hans denied about various rumours about his conversion into Islam that had been on headlines from a long time.
Moreover, he also shared about his entry into politics. While quoting about the rumours he called all the reports as fake. “I have not converted into Islam and these reports are false.” Adding to it, he said, “No doubt I have expressed my desire to visit Medina but I am much happy to practice my original religion.” Further, about his entry into politics, Hans Raj Hans said, “I never decided to enter politics, but it happened because of my friends. My friends only suggested me to give a try in politics and being influenced by them I tried my luck in this field as well but nothing worked out as such,” he added laughingly. Adding to it he said, “Entering politics was just a chapter of my life’s book so it happened anyway.”
As he is totally adopted the Sufi Gayaki, Hans Raj Hans also talked about the Sufism and the changes this form of singing is experiencing these days. He said, “The change Sufism is experiencing is just because on the demand of its listeners and whatever they love to hear we sing.” Elaborating about the future projects, Hans Raj Hans said, “Music is my life and my new Sufi album will be released soon.”
