Decks have been cleared for the establishment of fertilizer plants in Madhya Pradesh with the cooperation of the Union Ministry of Petroleum. It has become possible with the Gas Authority of India (GAIl) making available CNG in the State in increased quantity, which will benefit the farmers. A scheme is also being chalked out to supply piped gas to houses in Mahakaushal and other regions of the State. This was stated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Ujjain on Monday. The Chief Minister alongwith Union Minister for Steel Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a CNG Mother Station and supply centre of domestic piped gas at Ujjain.
The CNG Mother Station set up by Avantika Gas limited, a joint venture of GAIl and HCPl, will supply domestic piped gas to the houses of Ujjain city and CNG to vehicles. The Chief Minister said that facility of domestic piped gas will also be provided to households in villages adjoining Ujjain city. He said that Simhastha to be held at Ujjain will be pollution-free and green with the cooperation of the Union Ministry of Petroleum. Tomar said that the Union Ministry of Petroleum has given an important gift of CNG Mother Station to Ujjain.
Pradhan said that establishment of this centre will help in this area's progress. He informed that GAIl's 2000 km long pipeline passes through Madhya Pradesh. The State will get large-scale benefit. Vehicles will get fuel at lower cost due to availability of CNG. He said that CNG buses, taxis and Magic vehicles will run from Indore. Piped domestic gas will be supplied to one lakh households of Indore and Ujjain in the next 2 years. Minister in-charge of district Kailash Vijayvargiya and MP Chintamani Malviya also spoke on the occasion. School Education Minister Paras Jain, MlAs Anil Firojiya and Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Mohan Yadav and Mayor Rameshwar Akhand were also present on the occasion.
