A 58-year-old woman was relieved of her gold chain worth Rs 25,000 by two bike borne miscreants near SBI bank under Bairagarh police station area on Thursday.
Sarita Das was attacked by two bike borne miscreants in the morning on Thursday while she had gone for morning walk with her neighbour and when they reached near SBI bank two bike borne miscreants appeared at the spot and pillion rider snatched gold chain she was wearing, said police.
In her compliant victim claimed that the gold chain was worth Rs 25000. Victim is a house wife and used to go for morning walk during which the robbery occurred.
The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old girl was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 40000 at Kaliyatsot Dam under Chunabhatti police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police at around 7 pm when the victim Jyoti Sundar Tripathi was roaming near Kaliyasot Dam a miscreant appeared and escaped with the gold chain she was wearing in her neck.
She later lodged a complaint with the Chunabhatti police and claimed that a miscreant appeared and escaped with gold chain worth Rs 40000.
The victim is a student of Pandit Khushilal Sharma Ayurveda College and lives at a girl hostel. After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Victim was not able to provide description of the miscreants as she was not able to spot them in the darkness.
