Rasoyas (cook) engaged in mid day meal making in Government schools are up in arms here in Palamu.
The Rasoyas staged a demonstration here in Daltonganj on Thursday in support of their 11 point charter of demands.
The demands are that rasoyas be paid 12 months honorarium instead of 10 months. The Government gives 10 months honorarium following spate of holidays in Government schools.
The other demand is rasoyas be given four soap cakes and 4 detergent cakes a month luckily the rasoyas have not cited the brand of the soaps.
But the biggest of 11 demands was that rasoyas be given 200 rupees a day for cooking mid day meal in Government school.
