Mayor of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation (BMC) Kishore Rai on Monday presented Budget for the year 2015-16 at a special meeting of the Corporation here and announced constructions of six flyovers to ease out traffic. To boost income, the BMC has revised tax and other charges. Property tax has been increased over 5 per cent. The Budget and 24 proposals were passed in the meeting in absence of Congress corporators.
In his maiden Budget speech, Mayor Kishore Rai informed that the total projected income for the fiscal 2015-16, is Rs46627.86 lakh. Mayor announced constructions of six new flyovers in Bilaspur which is the second largest city of Chhattisgarh. As per budget announcements, more than 700 private toilets will be constructed under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan. In first phase, over 1300 houses will be built under Rajiv Aawas Yojana.
