After a few years’ gap, Maoists again tried to mark their presence in Mayurbhanj district by pasting posters in different parts of the district.
On Sunday morning, Maoists posters, including some handwritten leaflets, were found at Joka and Paktia under the Jharpokharia police station triggering fear among the residents.
The Maoists have asked the people to join the observance of the People liberation Guerrilla Army (PlGA) Week beginning on December 2. The posters were written in Odia and Hindi.
Posters were also found at Chadeipahaji village in the Rairangpur area asking the people to observe the PlGA week. The Maoists have opposed the Green Hunt against them and demanded immediate stopping of the operation through the posters. Police have started investigation into the appearance of the posters.
The posters have left villagers of the area panic-stricken. “We urge the Government to protect us,” said a local resident.
