Eleven people — including women and children — were injured in Peterwar after lightning struck on them on Sunday night. According to reports, two dozen people along with women and children took shelter because of rain near the Shiv temple at Jaradih village under the Peterwar block on Sunday evening. 
About a dozen people reportedly became senseless for an hour after the lightning while one school teacher identified as Sheela Devi was seriously injured after being struck by lightning on Sunday night in Jaradih village within jurisdiction of Kodh panchayat in Peterwar block. She was rushed to the Apollo hospital Ranchi, police added.The bolt of electricity made a loud crack that sounded like an explosion on a warm and over cast night, witnesses said.
