Following its motto of ‘Clean Rourkela and Green Rourkela,’ volunteers of a social organisation of steel city ‘lead Rourkela’ cleaned a drain of l 2 area of Kalinga Vihar, Chhend Colony on Sunday. The drain was lying chocked for last many months.
As the drain was covered with garbage and debris, waste and rain water was not properly flowing through it. That is why the residents were in problem. The locals appreciated the job of the volunteers. A senior citizen of the area Ganesh Bhuyan and former councillor G Anand were present to encourage the volunteers. It may be noted here that every Sunday the organisation takes up a special cleaning drive in a particular area of the city.
