The CSR Committee, formed on the direction of the Keonjhar district Collector to study the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities by the industries, held its first meeting under chairmanship of Champua Sub-Collector Santosh Kumar Mishra at Joda on Saturday.Issues like employment opportunities for local people in the mines and factories and bad road condition of NH 215 were discussed in detail.
According to sources, there has been no progress in the construction of NH-215 from Rimuli to Rajmunda as agreement of the concerned contractor is yet to be extended by the NHAI. The extension has been stopped as some local people complained against the contractor, sources added.The local mines owners and industries were asked to do repair the road otherwise there would be serious traffic problems in coming days.
While the road from Bilaipada to lahanda was assigned to the Tata Steel, the stretch from the Mining office to Ranasal Ghat was given to the Jindal Steel. Similarly, the road from Ranasalghat to Bhadrasahi was given to KJS Alluwalia and Promineral was assigned with repair of the stretch from Dubuna to Basantpur.Representatives of the Indrani Patnaik Mines, Rungta Mines, Sirajjudin, Tata Steel, Mesco, KJS Alluwalia, KC Pradhan Essar, Arya Steel, Jindal Steel and Sumrit Mettalic Sagar Mines attended the meeting. DDM SK Nayak and SDPO Ajay Pratap Swain were also present.
