Police arrested an active member of People’s liberation Front of India (PlFI) from Mccluskieganj on Wednesday in connection with a demand for extortion from a businessman. The arrested ultra Shyam lohra has been on the police’s radar for a number of cases registered in Mccluskieganj and is said to be directly associated with people second in command in the outfit.
“We had information about his whereabouts and acting on the information we arrested the criminal with arms and ammunition,” said Rural SP, Rajkumar lakra. Police recovered one 0.315 bore country-made pistol, eight rounds of live cartridges and a mobile from the possession of lohra. The arrested ultra is wanted in four cases registered in Khalari, two cases registered in Mccluskieganj police station. A fresh case under Arms Act has been registered on Wednesday after the accused was arrested with arms and ammunitions. lohra was a key operative of PlFI in Khalari region.
“lohra used to work for Bablu Yadav and Kargil Yadav who are next in command after Dinesh Gope,” said sources. The team that nabbed lohra included DSP Khalari, RP Kishore, police officials of Mcluskiganj and Khalari police stations.
