Ashish Mathur, JUSCO MD, on Wednesday inaugurated the first metered drinking water connection at Ruyah Pahar (Raghubar Nagar) under the plan to provide 4,500 connection at 86 bustee’s where water infrastructure has already been laid.
Mathur in his address said that JUSCO would ensure quality drinking water to the residents but it is the responsibility of people to conserve and protect wastage. As a ‘zimmedaar nagrik’ we should not only conserve but also ensure that the network is not punctured and raise alarm against theft and misuse. He further emphasised on those who already have water connections to install meter so that their consumption is monitored and they consume water as per the requirement and not waste it.
Jusco has completed 12 metered connections. The process for installing water meter with connection has started on Wednesday and in the next 6-8 months Jusco has plans to complete all the existing 4500 connections.
