In Haryana, all general hospitals will be renamed as ‘Civil Hospital’ in English and in Hindi language. Chief Minister Manohar lal has approved a proposal in this regard.Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Thursday said that earlier these being known as general hospitals used to give an impression of just being a hospital for general treatment only and were not giving the appropriate message.
Therefore, a decision has been taken to name all hospitals in the State and their new names would be displayed on the buildings. Soon instructions would be issued in this regard, he said. The Minister said that the names of those hospitals which are named after generous donors, would remain unchanged. Only those hospitals are named after the donors for which they donate Rs50 lakh or more.
Apart from this, the State Government has decided to regularise the services of those 1175 officers and officials who have been working under Family Welfare Programme of the Health Department for the last over three years of service. The Health Minister said that the Chief Minister has given approval to regularise their services. These employees had been making efforts for regularisation of their services for over a decade and had also urged the previous Congress Government for the same which was not approved by it.
Vij said that all kind of seniority has been considered for regularisation of their service so as to avoid any discrimination with any employee. The decision to regularise these employees has been taken according to a letter of Central Government issued in 1980.He said that appeals were being made by the Multipurpose Female Health Workers Union for regularisation of services of MPHW (women) and other employees working under Family Welfare Programme and following their demand, the Government has taken this decision to regularise their services. A total of 622 employees working under this programme had been regularised long ago but services of remaining employees were pending for more than 10 years.
