To recognise the efforts of exporting units, Haryana Government has revised the existing scheme for the grant of ‘State Export Awards’ to the manufacturer exporters of the State. A spokesman of Haryana Industries and Commerce Department on Tuesday said that large and medium, micro and small scale industries exporting their products were eligible for the award.
He said under the revised Export Award Scheme, there would be a total of 18 ‘Outstanding Exporter Awards’ of `3 lakh each in nine different industrial groups. These include engineering, auto and auto components, agro-based, food and horticulture, glass, rubber and ceramics, scientific instruments and home appliances, textile, hosiery, readymade garments, leather and footwear, handloom and handicrafts, electronics, IT and ITES, pharmaceuticals, drugs, bio-tech and miscellaneous category. Two awards will be given in each category.
Apart from this, one award for ‘Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Exporter’ carrying amount of `3 lakh and 19 consolation prizes for large and medium, micro and small scale industries worth `51,000 each would also be given.
The spokesman said that exporting manufacturing units situated anywhere in the State and covered under the groups mentioned above would be eligible for the Export Award Scheme, provided that export turnover is counted towards exports from the State of Haryana by the office of Director General Foreign Trade.
The application under the ‘Woman Exporter Award’ would be considered only if the exporting unit is owned and managed by a woman entrepreneur or proprietor with 51 per cent of higher share holding in the partnership or private limited company. A proprietorship exporting unit would be given preference. The exporting unit once selected for award would not be considered again for next five years, including year of selection, he added.
A selection committee headed by Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce would recommend the names of exporting units under the export award scheme. Managing Director Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Managing Director Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation, Director Agriculture and Director MSME, Development Institute, Government of India, Karnal, would be Members of the committee. Referring to the selection criteria, the spokesman said that there would be a total of 100 marks, out of which 30 marks would be allotted for maximum export, 20 each for ratio of export to production and value addition, 15 marks for best trend in export and 5 marks each would be allotted for new product, R & D activity and ISO 9001/14001/HACCP certification.
