The Members of the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam will make extensive visit of the area for 10 days in February, 2015 for hearing grievances of the consumers and to entertain new complaints.A spokesman said the proceedings of the CGRF will be held at Karnal on February 2, Rohtak on February 5 and 11, Yamuna Nagar on February 6, Sonepat on February 9, Panipat on February 13, Ambala on February 18, Jhajjar on February 20, Kurukshetra on February 24 and Kaithal on February 26. The consumers from distant places will not be required to go to the Forum office at Panchkula for redressal of their grievances.
The CGRF will take all grievances/complaints of consumers like billing problem, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, efficiency, safety, reliability etc.However, the cases of theft and unauthorized use of electricity, offences and penalties as specified under section 135 to 139 of Electricity Act, accidents and enquiries as under section 161 of the Act would not be considered by the Forum.
The consumers who approach the Forum would ensure that no case in any other court of law on similar matter is pending. They will be required to submit the complaint with full details along with a duly attested affidavit. No fee would be charged by the Forum.
