The Haryana Government on Monday launched e-vishleshak, a statistical software where the entire data of various Government departments would be available for analysis.On the occasion of National Statistical Day, Haryana Finance and Planning Minister Capt Abhimanyu launched the software.The National Statistical Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, the founder of the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
Terming the day as very important in the history of economic administration of the country, Capt. Abhimanyu said that e-vishleshak software was extremely required for administrative or government works. The entire data of various departments would now be available for analysis through this software.The departments can make their schemes effective on the basis of reliable statistics. Any department can examine the statistics available through the software, said he.Describing the e-vishleshak software as Information Destination, the Minister said that statistics had been a very interesting subject for him which could bring a huge job on a single page.
He said that statistics are the basis of any scheme but lack of data and information were apparent in the schemes drafted earlier. The present government after its formation had decided to make all geographical and demographic data computerized so as to ensure efficient implementation of all schemes and programmes.The Minister asked the officials of various departments to provide maximum statistics for e-vishleshak software so that these could be utilized while framing welfare programme and policies.
