The Haryana Government is considering to develop the Bid Sonti forest area in district Kurukshetra in the form of a zoo.
Haryana Minister of State for Forest, Karan Dev Kamboj while presiding over a meeting of Forest Department on Thursday said that a zoo could be set up at Bid Sonti which would not only promote tourism in nearby areas of Kurukshetra, but would also prevent wild animals coming to the fields.
Similarly, other forest areas of the State would also be developed on same pattern, he added. The Minister directed the officers to plant more trees during monsoon season and stressed on the need of protection of trees planted by the Forest Department.
