Haryana CS celebrates 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas'

Haryana Chief Secretary DS Dhesi on Friday administered the pledge of ‘National Unity Day’ to all Government officers and officials working in the Haryana Civil Secretariat to celebrate ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on the eve of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Dhesi described Sardar Patel as a great freedom fighter and a symbol of national unity, who played a leading role in the country’s struggle for independence and kept the nation united. He said that functions in the memory of Sardar Patel would be organised in the entire State on October 31. The same day, Chief Minister Manohar lal will also start ‘Run for Unity’ from Kurukshetra.

The Chief Secretary said that the tallest iron statue in honour of Sardar Patel was being installed in Gujarat.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjeev Kaushal, Special Principal Secretary, R.K. Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, P.K. Mahapatra, Director General of Police, Yash Pal Singal, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation, Roshan lal, Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, S.S. Dhillon, Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Rajan Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning, P. Raghvendra Rao, Additional Principal Secretary, Rakesh Gupta, Principal Secretary, Cooperation, Sudhir Rajpal, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department Dr. Abhilaksh likhi, OSD to Chief Minister Mukul Kumar, CISF personnel and other senior officers and officials of State Government were also present on this occasion.
