The State Government has re-constituted the general body of Atal Child Health & Nutrition Mission. The Chief Secretary will be the president and Principal Secretaries Women and Child Development and Health and Family Welfare departments vice-presidents of the body. Members will include Principal Secretaries of Finance, School Education, PHE, Panchayats & Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Tribal Welfare and Urban Development and Environment departments. Besides, Commissioner Women’s Empowerment, Controller Food & Drug Administration, Regional Director of NIPSID and representatives of ICDS Mission and Food & Nutrition Board. Commissioner Integrated Child Development and ex-officio Director of Atal Bihari Child Health and Nutrition Mission will be its Member-Secretary.
Atal Child Health & Nutrition Mission has been established improve nutrition and health of children upto 5 years of age. The general body constituted to manage the mission gives guidance on policy-related issues and directives regarding strategy to be adopted to achieve mission’s objectives.
