Govt clears 7 projects worth Rs41,900 crore

The High level Clearance Authority (HlCA) , at a meeting here on Tuesday, approved seven project proposals worth Rs 41,900 crore.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat, Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said the committee approved a power plant to be set up by the Tata Power and Company ltd at Begunia in Khordha district at a cost of Rs 7,500 crore and another power plant to be set up by the Mahanadi Coalfields ltd (MCl) in Sundargarh district at a cost of Rs 8,000 crore.

Besides, the HlCA also approved the proposal for a power plant to be set up by the Jgreen Power Private ltd with an investment of Rs3,106 crore at Dhamra in Bhadrak district and a super critical power unit to be set up by the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) with an investment of Rs 8,861 crore in Dhenkanal district, the Minister said.

The HlCA also approved the proposals for expansion of the Bhushan Steel and Power, Ardent Steel ltd and Utkal Alumina plants in the State, the Minister added.
