Governor Balramji Das Tandon on Monday felicitated the meritorious students of Class X and XII who passed the Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal in the academic year 2013-14. Governor said that every child has special qualities and they should be recognised and encouraged. “It is the duty of parents to observe these qualities and show the right path to children,’’ he stated. Governor further remarked that there are immense possibilities in the field of education in present scenario. “The students need guidance in the field of their choice. The foundation of the children should be on a sound footing,’’ he opined.
School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap said this honour is not only for students but also for teachers and parents. “The untiring efforts of parents and teachers made them pass in flying colours. But still there is a lot to be achieved,’’ the Minister said. He expressed pleasure that the meritorious students of past years have maintained their merit in their later years also. The students should excel in the field of their choice. Kashyap said that the money given for meritorious students will be hiked soon.
Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal Chairman KDP Rao likened children to ‘Ashadeep’. About Rs1 crore is given to meritorious students in Chhattisgarh every year. School Education Secretary Subhrat Sahu and a lot of teachers and parents were present at the function. Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal Secretary Anil Rai proposed the vote of thanks.
