Former Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik on Wednesday joined the proposed Vedanta University project as its President. He would lead the University-cum-Smart City initiative as part of the Anil Agarwal Foundation, said a company release. Patnaik would be based out of Bhubaneswar and would also direct other initiatives on behalf of the foundation.
An IAS officer of the 1976 batch, Patnaik had a distinguished career in Civil Services. Post his superannuation as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Odisha in September 2010, he was appointed as Chairman of Odisha Staff Selection Commission and subsequently Member, Odisha Human Rights Commission in July, 2014.
