Alleging apathetic attitude of Bokaro Steel Plant’s (BSl) Management in providing jobs and compensations to the displaced people JMM Chief and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren advised them to be united and fight for their right. Soren also blamed corrupt practices of management which departed the displaced from their right. “At the time of acquiring lands to set up steel plant BSl management had promised to provide jobs to the identified displaced people, But there are many among them who yet to get their rights and compensations”, he added.

Since from the establishment of the Bokaro Steel Plant the stir of the displaced are ‘on’ for jobs but lack of proper leadership and unity they yet to get it, he said. “There are number of displaced union and leaders who are continuously exploiting them. They launched stir and end it immediate after getting personnel benefits”, he added. “If the displaced really want their right then they should be unit under one roof and then intensify their stir”, advised Soren. Soren was talking to the media persons at his Bokaro residence. Notably, during the assembly election campaign Home Minister Rajnath Singh also promised to solve all long standing local issues like displacement, rehabilitation, issues of miners within six months of forming of the BJP government in the state but issues are stand still.

Rising up arms against the management to provide them jobs displaced youths continuously launched stir includes ‘Brikshawas Satyagraha’, ‘Semi-naked demonstration for bread and employment’, ‘Aaj Gandhi Ke Raste, Kal Netaji Ke Raste’ and many more but issue continues. The displaced alleged that at the time of acquiring our lands to set up plant company had promised us to provide jobs to 24,000 identified displaced people; now failed from their promise but BSl management has declared that it has already provided jobs to about 16,000 displaced people earlier.
