Friday, 31 July 2015 | PNS | Jamshedpur

A 40-yrs-old man set himself on fire at Arjunbera village in Baharagora in Ghatshila sub-division at midnight on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Nidhi Munda, also led his house to reduce to ashes. Munda, who used to earn a living by farming and cultivation of paddy crops at Baharagora, was charred to death in the fire. The police recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for the post-mortem.

Officer-in-charge of Bahragora police station, Anjani Kumar said that Munda committed suicide when his wife had gone to attend a marriage ceremony at a relative’s house in the same village.

Sources informed that the deceased was very depressed as he did not have any children, despite 10 years of marriage.  As a result of Munda had stopped talking with  other villagers.

The officer-in-charge, Anjani Kumar said that Munda was suffering from depression and had stopped mixing with people. “ As per our investigation this was the reason that the deceased started staying aloof and no longer interacted since he thought he have to answer the people about his marital relation and  the children,” Kumar said.
