Health Minister Amar Agrawal reached Gariaband as part of the State government’s ‘lok Suraaj’ campaign and carried out inspection of the district hospital here. later, Agrawal directed Health Department officials to take action against doctors who are absent without prior information for a long duration and expel them.
Addressing a meeting of district administration officials, he instructed to provide free medicines to people coming in the government hospitals. “If necessary drugs are not available in hospital then, the Hospital Management should purchase the medicines and avail it,” he said.
He also asked Mission Director to arrange for 10 rural medical assistants and make the appointments on posts to be filled by appointment made on compassionate grounds soon.
MlA Santosh Upadhyay who was also present in the meeting demanded new buildings for Health Centre in the district, while Zila Panchayat President Dr Schweta Sharma raised the issue of shortage of lady physicians.
Earlier, the Minister inspected the district hospital. He interacted with patients in the hospital and inquired about services being offered to them. The Minister asked patients to purchase generic medicines.
