The JD Institute of Fashion Technology organised “JD Annual Design Awards-2015” on Wednesday. From appliquéd dhoti to trend setting jacket, collections of both men’s and women’s wears were put on display at the fashion carnival.

The fair displayed both interior and fashion items which were done by students of the Fashion and Interior Design Departments of the institute. Besides, a fashion show was organised, where models walked the ramp showcasing collections designed by the students. The main attraction of the ramp show was a Slovakia-based model Kornelia luknarovia.

The festival showcased the creations designed by the students on the theme ‘Pure,’ informed JD Institute of Fashion Technology Centre Director Vishal Subudhi.  He said it is amazing to see the students come out with such beautiful pieces of work.

The evening took the viewers to a nostalgic journey through the fashion show with live performances by models as they walked the ramp.

The idea behind the theme ‘Pure’ was to bring out the first thought that comes in the mind and follow that first thought fearlessly and curiously, said Executive Director of the institute RC Dalal. “I am elated to see some serious potential and responsibility among my student designers. In all, this will bring in new set of Pure designers,” he added.

The show witnessed almost four collections with 21 garments, said Vishal.
