Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive 2015 was organised on October 30 at Xavier Institute of Social Service in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur.
The event focused on the vital issue of entrepreneurship and business management. Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur is a non-profit student organisation established with the aim of fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship. It is a student body, formed in 2006 solely with the purpose of inspiring and guiding start-ups in IIT Kharagpur and to promote an entrepreneurial culture in its campus and beyond.
The Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) focuses on workshops and business plan competitions and provide mentorship and incubation support to aspiring student entrepreneur. It also conducts guest lectures on related issues at various colleges across India. EAD has come a long way since its inception in the year 2009 and has seen the number of cities grow from 10 to 24 with a footfall of 20,000 in 2014 and 23000 students in 2013.

The first edition of EAD was held in 2009 and was conducted in 10 major cities in India spanning over a period of 10 days promoting entrepreneurship and creating awareness about opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Citing details about the pros and cons of entrepreneurship, Founder Director HH High school, Shadab Hassan, said, “As the EAD drive continues to reach more students and entrepreneurs, we are now confident that more students are now inclined towards starting their own business. We have moved one step closer to achieve Vision 2020, as outlined by former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Students need to forget all social pressure and need to follow his/her heart. Creativity is one thing which every entrepreneur must have. Apart from it every entrepreneur must learn from his/her failure,”
Similarly, Franz Gastler, Co-Founder of Yuwa, said, “To be successful in life, one must follow his dreams and must have ability to take risk. Constant learning is very important.”
