The education department has directed the school heads to prepare students for selection in the national level ‘Kala Utsav’ which is slated at National Capital in second week of December. The national festival is being organised to revive local art among the students.
The Director General (DG) of school education D Senthil Pandiyan has given orders to all Government schools to hold competitions promoting tribal, local and traditional art in their respective schools.
In the contest the students are selected on four important parameters of Theatre, Music, Dance and Visual art. After selection in the schools district level contests would be held in the first week of November to shortlist the participants from the state. The department would consider folk songs and skits on Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari language for the festival.
The theme of national level ‘Kala Utsav' competition this year is ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padaho’.
The department has appointed Primary education director, Seema Jaunsari as nodal officer for these competitions.
The department officials are told to submit the summary of competition entries based on four parameters in 500 words and video or audio clips to the project office of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) by October 3 to expedite the process of selections for the contest.
