The Dhanaulti Eco Park is doing brisk business during the New Year celebration period. On the other hand, the authorities are also focusing on hotels and resorts nearby to keep a check on the noise pollution generated by the New Year revelries.
All of the eight bamboo huts in the eco-park here were booked in advance for the occasion. Apart from this about 300 to 400
people are visiting the Dhanaulti eco-park in a day. Officials state that a revenue of about Rs 40 lakh has been earned this year from the bamboo huts and entry fee. The eco-park secretary Kuldeep Negi stated that all necessary preparations have been made for the convenience of tourists.
Meanwhile, the authorities here also appear concerned about the noise pollution likely to be generated by the new year revelries being organised in various hotels and resorts around the eco-park. The department administration has decided to observe special vigilance and monitor the hotels and resorts nearby.
Dhanaulti eco-park forest beat officer Pramod Bangwal
informed that two teams have been formed to monitor the venues to ensure that noise-pollution norms are not violated. Those found violating the law by generating more than the permissible decibles of noise will be penalised and legal action will be initiated against them, added Bangwal.
