The Director-General (DG) of School Education, D Senthil Pandiyan, took a meeting of education officers of the State and ordered them to ensure that the quality of education in the State is improved.The DG asked the Chief Education Officers (CEO) to ensure that the physical inspection of the schools of their area is done and the report about the infrastructure, manpower availability and skills is submitted till February 5.

He said that annual working plan of the department would be based on this report so the education officers should list their areas of priority in their reports. The DG asked the officers to conduct regular surprise inspections of the schools of their areas. He said that the concerning BRC, CRC and Bock Education Officers (BEO) would be held accountable from the areas where regular complaints of absence of teachers are coming.

 Pandiyan said that prompt action against the absentee teachers should be taken as per the provision of the department.  In the meeting it was decided that the regular monthly review meeting of the education department would be done using the video conferencing. The DG said that proper medical examination of the students under Rashtriya Bal Swasthaya programe should be done in collaboration with the department of health.

The DG school education ordered that to ensure improvement in quality of education in the primary schools the practice of keeping a confidential report of the primary teachers should be practiced.In the meeting Manglesh Ghildiyal of luxar presented a model on vicious circle of illiteracy and its solution.In the model he highlighted that the students of class I to VIII fail to do well in all subjects in absence of proper proficiency in Hindi language. The model was appreciated by everyone present in the meeting and it was decided to implement it all schools. 

The meeting was attended by the education director R K Kunwar, primary education director Seema Jaunsari, the Principals of all DIETS of state, CEOs, DEOs and BEOs of the state.
