Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Thursday directed Deputy Commissioner of Pakur for using unused and defunct Government buildings in the district to run Eklavya Vidyalya meant for educating primitive tribes. While reviewing Van Bandhu Kalyan Scheme the CS also directed that such schools could be operated by excellent NGOs.
“The NGOs would also select teachers for making the primitive tribes educated. The work should be started from October 15. The officials need to expedite works under the Van Bandhu Kalyan Scheme. The unused buildings can be used in meantime for the purpose as it would take another 18 months to the Aklavya Vidyalya to come up,” said Gauba.
Underlining the importance of the scheme, the CS said that it is on priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thus no leniency should be adopted in the way of its implementation. He also sought proposals about skill development, check dams, health services from the district administration related to allotments.
Examination Controller Rajiv Varun Ekka would also visit littipara by August 8 to visit the schemes and present a report. Ekka also instructed the district officials to prepare micro plan under Jharkhand Tribal Development Society (JTDS) as per the local needs and stressed on livelihood mission thought SHGs.
The DC informed that land has been identified under the scheme for the schools and an ambulance has also been provided. Out of Rs 2 crore of fund Rs 91.62 lakh has been spent under the scheme. Besides DC, DDC, Civil Surgeon and other officials were present in the review meeting.
