A decomposed body of a girl was found on the way to Dimna lake under Bodam police station area on Wednesday afternoon. The police suspect it to be a case of murder. The place where the body was, is near to the picturesque Dimna lake.

The decomposed body seemed to be of a 25 year-old girl. Officer-in-charge, Bodam police station area, Biren Toppo said that the investigation was still on and they suspect it to be a case of murder. A villager noticed the body and soon informed the police.

As the news spread, officer-in-charge, MGM police station Vinod Kumar visited the spot and informed Bodam police. The officer-in-charge of Bodam police station speculated it to be a case of murder and some youths must have ditched her.

“As per our information some unknown assailant must have murdered the girl somewhere else and dropped the body in the bush. The murder have been committed four or five days ago. Young couples visit the place for spending time in picturesque Dimna. The assailant also must have visited the Dimna lake before getting the body disposed off in the bush following her murder,” said the police official.

“We have recovered the body and kept it in the MGM Medical College mortuary for identity. If the body is identified we will be in a better position to identify the culprits too,” said the officer-in-charge. He pointed out they are waiting for autopsy report to find out whether the victim had been raped before being murdered.

Notably, Dimna lake is a famous tourist spot for the people of the city. Tata Steel has also deployed security guards to keep vigil.
