Currency paper unit goes on-stream

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday inaugurated the new pulp line unit for the production of currency paper at Hoshangabad. He said that this is an important step towards the country's self-respect and the Make in India campaign. He said that Madhya Pradesh has risen to eminence under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, India will become the strongest economy in the world.

Jaitley said that an important beginning towards indigenization has been made at Hoshangabad today. Earlier, paper for higher denomination currency notes used to be imported. Now, the bank note paper will be produced at Hoshangabad. Ink, security features and the technique are also being made in India.

Referring to development in Madhya Pradesh, he said that the State has progressed in all sectors including roads, farming, power and water. The State is marching ahead rapidly towards industrial development.
